Are you looking for an activity with a unique experience? Then plan a visit to the muZIEum. The muZIEum is the experience museum about seeing and not seeing. What is it like to be blind or visually impaired? Of course you can read about it, have an expert tell you about it, but you can also experience it for yourself at the muZIEum! A visit to the muZIEum is great fun and educational for company outings, class trips, children's parties, groups, but of course also as an individual!

Step into a world where hearing, smelling, feeling and tasting play a much more prominent role than you are used to. The muZIEum offers a unique experience: you are led around by a guide who is blind or visually impaired and tells stories from personal experience. Explore total darkness with the dark experiences or head into the city with the Expedition ridge route. The dark experiences completely immerse you in blindness. Everything takes place in the dark, leaving you literally unable to see your hand in front of your face. The outdoor experience is a guided tour through the city center of Nijmegen, where through virtual reality glasses you experience for yourself what it is like to be visually impaired.

An important mission of the muZIEum is to contribute to the employment of the blind and visually impaired. The muZIEum now employs 38 visually impaired people, mainly as guides during the experiences. As experts by experience, they are the beating heart of the organization.
